Fructo oligosaccharide is an oligofructose obtained by partially enzymatic hydrolysis of chicory inulin. It is a fine powder, suitable for a wide range of food applications as a functional food ingredient.

Chicory Oligofructose, belonging to the fructan group, is a mixture of oligosaccharides built up of fructose units with β(2-1) bonds. Parts of the molecules are ended by a glucose unit. The degree of polymerization varies mainly between 2 and 8.
